planning meeting for #nambiyaru River Restoration

An orientation, resource mapping, and resource mobilization meeting was conducted at Gurunathan Key stakeholders, including farmers’ associations, Rotary, Lions Club, traders’ associations, NGOs, and community representatives, attended the meeting and expressed their willingness to support the initiative during the implementation process. The Rotary Club agreed to mobilize their Rotaract Club youth volunteers. A few stakeholders agreed to work on crowdfunding. The date of commencement for the survey, 19.07.2024, was also announced, as discussed in the joint coordination committee meeting. Around 160 representatives from the villages along the river participated in the meeting. The support required from community members during the survey and restoration was discussed, and their cooperation was sought. The meeting concluded with a dinner arranged by the Namadhu Nambiyaru team from  area.
