Nam Anuman Nathi Society and Anuman Nathi FED Farmer Producer Company

Uvakai Research Foundation in collaboration with Nam Anuman Nathi Society and Anuman Nathi FED Farmer Producer Company, conducted a study to assess water levels in 52 Radhapuram-associated tanks over the past 12 years using Bhuvan Satellite data. The findings revealed that more than 80% of the time, most tanks remained dry, even during years of heavy rain or floods. Naripparai Kulam, the first tank in the system, also struggled to receive water from the channel. Field validation confirmed these findings and documented the challenges in ensuring the tanks could store water to their full capacity. The report reconfirmed the findings of the Comptroller Auditor’s report on the Radhapuram channel, released in 2021, which questioned the efficiency of the system originally designed by the visionary leader Thiru. K. Kamarajar due to various governance-related issues. This study emphasizes that collective, dedicated efforts—not just financial investments—are essential to resolving the ongoing water crisis.
